Samsung Electronics announced a formal humanoid robotics push in March 2026, joining the small but rapidly growing club of major global electronics companies committing to humanoid robots. Unlike pure-play humanoid startups, Samsung enters the market with substantial vertical integration: Samsung SDI (one of the world's three largest battery manufacturers), Samsung's semiconductor business, Samsung Display, and Samsung's AI research labs — all under one corporate roof.
Samsung's stated approach prioritizes manufacturing readiness over visible product demonstrations. The company has confirmed it is constructing pilot manufacturing lines for high-precision humanoid robots, while Samsung SDI has confirmed that humanoid-grade battery cells will reach mass production in the second half of 2027.
